you must have read the sad news about the two children who suffocated to death as a result of a fire that broke out in a house in the area of al-firdous on friday - what was really sad about this story is the fact that their heartless nanny escaped the house and left them behind to die - the two kuwaiti children (two and five years old) tried in vain to escape death by climbing to the upper floor.
in her statement, the nanny said that the kids were playing with electric powers which eventually triggered the fire in the ground floor while she was calling her sponsor on the first floor - when she went down she didn't see the kids, so she fled the scene.
i guess a parent would never leave his kids behind in a fire, but a nanny would - this should be a reminder for all parents to really think twice before they decide to hire a nanny - if both parents have a job and a nanny is absolutely necessary, make sure she is up to the responsibility and call your kids every now & then to check on them.
ideally, it is best to live without a nanny, if we can do without one why can’t you?
