we were invited to the first napket jazz night on wednesday, and that was definitely not an invite we would ignore - we love jazz, it runs in our blood! so we headed to the avenues that night and as you must have read, we were stuck in traffic for more than an hour - though we've been to napket before, we always sat outside, this time around we went in and sat alongside the books wall.
if you like old vintage books, you must visit napket and check out that wall - they are all from the 1960's, who's who, bernard show his life and personality, a tale of two cities, les miserables, these are just a few samples...
as for the food, it was delicious, the cheese selection and the bread were awesome, too bad there was no happy juice :) - the jazz band was fantastic, it played a selection of famous international songs like wonderful world, besame mucho and la vie en rose, in addition to a more selective list - we would have loved to hear some classics from billy holiday, nina simone, mel torme or ella fitzgerald, may be next time.
it was a beautiful night and we're definitely coming back for more - jazz nights will be held every wednesday so we recommend you give it a try - napket is at the avenues, above pq.
thanks for the invite ansam, we really enjoyed it.
