More trouble ahead for Wataniya Airways

wataniya airways' problems are not over yet, it seems that ceasing operations is just the tip of the iceberg as a number of employees are going ahead with lawsuits against the airline for not honoring the kuwait labor law - most of the employees were denied their indemnities pending the general assembly meeting which will eventually declare bankruptcy.

what's making things even worse, is the staff that were sent home without a proper termination process - they were simply asked to stay home and not show up to work without the 3 months notice period - though some of the staff have been asked to stay in order to take care of the shutdown process, no one knows if march salaries are going to be paid!

not sure whether these lawsuits will lead anywhere, if and when the airline declares bankruptcy, one thing is sure there's more trouble ahead for wataniya airways, but most importantly for the unfortunate staff and their families..

I urge all the employees (hopefully they can see this before it's too late) to go to work until they are given an official letter to stay home! The company can file a case of absence and the employee gets nothing if he/she is absent from work for 7 consecutive days!

Thanks narine, that’s what a bunch of us did until management gave us an official clearance memo. Trust is below zero at this point… Tough times for us

Management – WHO – Director of inflight? who ranway like a creep taking his bunch of ladies & gay men with himself? Or the CEO – who has made no official statement yet – Or the chairman, who is probably busy humping someone while the staff and passengers stand naked personally as well as professionally. There is no management. Its a cursed airline, nothing good can ever happen there. If that airline ever does well, god as well as his goodness will be in doubt. They screwedup their existence, lets hope they don't screwup their closure.

Spot on Al Taher:-) They really are bastards and its not meant as an insult but as a fact. Otherwise they wouldnt treat their employees like that. Shameless.. And we employees are stupid that we trusted their lies ensuring us that everything is fine until last moment. I hope everyone will take action against them and not listen to them anymore asking for patience and understanding (without paying our salaries). I would spit to their faces if i could.

This will have negative PR on the whole KIPCO group
How can they let this happen?
How can they let down their employees like that?
Employees are neither getting their salaries nor their indemnities, they have been thrown out as if they are a kind of a disease!! Shame on this airline.
And now the best part, rumors say they will liquidate the company and no one will get a penny.
