we were invited to experience the home cinema experience at xcite the avenues, so we took the kids to watch a movie - we picked the avengers, though we had seen it before, but we wanted a movie that is rich in visual and sound effects to maximize the experience.
watching the movie on a 3 meter screen feels as if you were in a large movie theater, you get so immersed in the movie it feels as if you were in the middle of the action - the picture quality is unbelievably good, i mean with a runco projector, a stewart screen and b&w speakers, you can't expect anything less than an awesome home cinema experience..
we enjoyed the movie so much, we actually stayed till the last possible moment, and discovered a second bonus scene after the second credits... it is called the shawarma scene!
the characters are siting around a table in a restaurant, obviously destroyed by the battle, they are very tired, eating shawarma - no one speaks a word, but it is so hilarious!
we loved the home cinema so much we're thinking of kicking the kids out and turning their room into a home cinema! but since this is like a very remote possibility, we just wish we had a spare room to get one installed, especially after hearing the prices of the available packages - basically xcite has 3 home cinema packages:
- bronze: (kd 5000) - 2.4 meters screen - linn speakers
- silver: (kd 7,500) - 3 meters screen - b&w speakers
- gold: (kd 10,000) - 4 meters screen - b&w speakers
the 3 packages offer you sony blu-ray player for free, and needless to mention that you can hook your satellite tv or your playstation to that huge screen - as for payment methods, it goes like this: 30% upon order, 30% upon installation & 40% upon delivery, the process will take around 2 months from start to finish.
now if you think this is over, it is just the beginning - imagine that for a few extra bucks, you can ask xcite to sync your projector, smart lighting, ac, speakers, camera and everything else to your ipad through an awesome app called kaleidescape! so imagine controlling all those gizmos from the comfort of your seat, well i'd never leave that room for sure!
xcite has launched home cinema almost a month ago and it seems that the sales has surpassed their expectations - should you need extra services like sound acoustics they can provide that for you.
thank you xcite for the invite, we loved the experience and the popcorn! we'll be in touch once we have that extra room ready :)
