Wataniya Airways sells assets to pay KIB not its staff

it seems that wataniya airways is setting up an auction to sell a bunch of cars worth kd 67,250 - the money will go to KIB as the airline owes the bank kd 6 million - obviously, wataniya arways staff has gone nuts over this as they were laid-off without indemnities or salary pay and this money should be used for that purpose.

this is so unfair... sometimes i wonder if there's any justice at all!

Its always the case though. Debt gets paid first to banks then people

    2. Zaid says:

I've heard the opposite from lawyers, staff first and then banks

    3. Shameless says:

They just need a good lawyer, otherwise they won't get paid

They have two planes sitting on the tarmac, I noticed flying in last night, are they auctioning those off too or do they belong to ALAFCO? Such a shame. They were a moment of civility in Kuwait, as far as the level of airline service went in Kuwait and if you were a passenger, but in the end they lost all civility towards their patrons and staff. One night I saw these film/singers fly in on their Beirut flight into Sheikh Saad Terminal and there were camera's flashing and the CEO was there to greet the celebrity. It could have been a new era for Kuwait, but as usual they dropped the ball due to incompetence and mismanagment. I truly miss Wataniya!

it is unfortunate – we all miss this airline, it was so different and the experience was first class – but as you said, mismanagement took it down!

    6. Husam says:

What about people's money that they took for flights, and holiday packages that they did not honor?

    7. Timbo says:

@Husam, I am afraid you are just going to have to eat it. In otherwards take a loss, you will never see that money, I suspect.

    8. 965malls says:

Timbo's right – this is the biggest scandal in that whole case – pure theft !

    9. 7mood says:

They stole people’s money, they stole employees’ money, they broke many families and NOBODY cares!!! This is more outrageous than stealing and it’s already been almost a year, what happened since? Nothing new so far as I don’t see someone doing anything

    10. Husam says:

Timbo, 965malls, you are probably right, but it is sad that in Kuwait a certain someone takes money from people for services, and not honor that, and nothing happens. What is happening to us? …… sigh
Tell me is there any lawyer in Kuwait that took on this case(s)?

    11. 965malls says:

yes, but it seems that a big number of people are not happy with him, he is stalling and taking his time. They went to him and raised their discontent but somehow he managed to buy time.
